Here’s a clip of the first single off Born and Raised, called “Shadow Days.” I’m excited to share the first bit of sound from the album… Been looking forward to a post like this since October 14, 2010, the first day I started writing this group of songs. Enjoy.

The only thing I know for sure: we all get old. It is not a sad realization. That one day we will wake up and remember how we used to look and how we’re wasting away. It is happening every day, actually. But there will be a day when we will wake up and look at ourselves and our hands and our chests and try to remember when it all happened. When we stopped being young and started being old. And we probably won’t have an answer, we will maybe cry a few tears and finally acknowledge the fact that it’s downhill from there. No matter how much we exercise, if we run or walk, if we swim or lift weight, we’re not getting stronger, we’re not getting younger, we’re not as close to being alive as we are to being dead. I just hope that when it happens to me, whatever it is that I feel, I hope it comes with a feeling of accomplishment rather than any other feeling. (photo by me)

Happy Birthday Jimi Hendrix.

On October 15, 1965, Hendrix signed his first recording contract with PPX Enterprises for $1.00 and 1% royalties for three years, in a controversial deal that would complicate Hendrix’s future success. Now, the contract is displayed at the Gotta Have It! Rock & Roll Pop Art Auction Press Preview at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex NYC in New York City, though it is the source of legal disputes to this day.
